Ah-Ha, Now I Get It: Marjorie Taylor Greene Wants to Be Trump's Running Mate!

Greene is all over the country pushing herself as the female voice of the people, and one orange virus is taking notice

She is a pariah among pariahs. The bottom of the barrel, the part where all the muck and nasty stuff builds up, is thick with stupidity, and it has a name: The Republican Controlled Congress. 

Marjorie Taylor Greene is about there, she might be in a gymnasium, school cafeteria, or rec center near you. She is rousing the rabble, and the rabble, the God-fearing (so long as He is the one who hates gays and immigrants and is suspect of the ‘colored folks’) Christians are falling head over heels for the bleached blonde from the Peach State.

In her recent appearance at a Turning Point USA event in Arizona, Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene blasted the “stupid people in Washington” she works with, whom she accused of hurting Americans with their policies.

The Georgia representative, a longtime MAGA loyalist and Donald Trump ally, was attending the conservative organization’s annual event, AmericaFest, at the Phoenix Convention Center on Sunday, where she was listed among the main speakers of the day (Marjorie Greene Rages).

Greene, one of the least intellectually gifted members of American society — why limit this to Congress, after all, the days when intelligent and honorable people were elected to Congress ended in the early 2000s — like Trump has hung her political future securely onto a “traditional, Christian, hard-working white people are getting a bum rap” coat rack. Many of these attendees at the events where she speaks and where Trump also speaks love this whiney grievance. Here is the thing: Regardless of how whiney it may seem, this narrative fires up 35 to 40 percent of the American electorate.

Every time the progressive left comes out in support of a transgender woman taking part in cis (gender assigned to them at birth) women’s sports, Greene’s whiney caw becomes more refined, less raucous, and more articulate. 

Can you imagine? Half of America struggles to make our society more equitable and to protect the downtrodden and working classes from the forty years of unforgiving policies of Republicans, and for their efforts, Democrats are labeled America’s enemies. Republicans who choose to govern, which means they must work with Democrats, are called “stupid and weak” by a woman who has long demonstrated she understands nothing about democracy. By a woman who wants an American-style Putin to punish anyone with opinions different from Trump’s — and her.

Greene said she was “sick and tired of the stupid people in Washington making horrible decisions, causing Americans to go broke.” A recording of the speech is available on TPUSA’s website.

She added: “That’s what they have done. The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer, and that’s because we have stupid people in Washington, D.C., and I can say that for a fact because I work with many of them. And I’m not just talking about Democrats (Marjorie Greene Rages).”

The dangerous thing about Greene’s words is that she has a point, and it is one with which I won’t argue. In our American system, it is the Gospel truth that the rich get richer at the expense of the poor and working classes. I will add an “Amen” and a “Hallelujah.” The policies that come out of Washington facilitate this status quo. As a fair person, I will say that not just Republicans are to blame for this. 97 percent of America’s problems can be directly linked back to Republican policies and indirectly to their obstruction. I am willing to toss 3 percent in the direction of Democrats.

If Trump chooses Greene, he would be getting a warrior of stupidity that Pence never was. As terrible as Pence was, when it came down to it on January 6th, he put America ahead of Trump’s sick obsession. He chose to honor our centuries-long tradition of peacefully transferring power and denied America’s fascists their moment. Vice President Greene would have acted entirely differently.

Her rise to power has indeed been astounding. It is the kind of story that would make a great political thriller like the 1992 hit Bob Roberts. Trump and Greene would be a formidable duo. Their base would be on fire with passion and a sense of mission — even destiny. 

As much as I think Biden has been a great president, his successes have been disregarded because of our country’s 40 percent above of stupid. The entire right-wing media machine screams 24/7 that he is a failed president, and the Republican Congress, even though they have worked with him repeatedly, thus making him one of the most successful presidents for passing bipartisan bills, says he is a failed and useless president. The left and mainstream media also are not playing up his real successes, which have sent positive ripples throughout the world. 

And then there is the “veep problem” Biden has — Greene beats Harris, folks. A Trump/Greene ticket motivates the lunatic fringe more so than a Biden/Harris ticket compels sanity to come out and vote.
