Ashli Babbit Day is Commemorated in Columbus, Ohio
Dopey, not-so-bright, proud boys demonstrate just how unfair evolution sometimes is
Neanderthals are people, too. But sadly, they aren’t so bright and keep ending up supporting causes and aberrations in the human genome that pull humankind back to its more primitive and violent roots.
If you put on a yellow and black Nazi-style hat — many aren’t aware that Germany’s Nazis had an affinity with yellowish-gold and creamy-brown colors — a pretty black mesh vest filled with ammo (and probably protein bars, condoms, and a dictionary for dealing with words with more than five letters), and a big gun, then you have the average “proud boy.” These evolutionary misfits showed up yesterday, on January 6th, in Columbus on a day they are now calling “Ashli Babbit Day” and scuffled with protesters.
In case you have forgotten, Ashli Babbitt is the QAnon lunatic who was shot trying to climb through a broken window in the Capitol Building, regardless of the small fact that a secret service agent was aiming a gun and warning that if she proceeded, he would shoot. Reveling in her white entitlement, she moved and was shot dead on the spot. While I do hope Babbitt has found peace in the afterlife, on Earth, she fell victim to Trumpism and QAnon, and her last years were spent with a fog-thick brain. Her blood, ultimately, is on the orange menace’s smallish hands.
It is tough to fathom that these dopey, meth-cooking proud boys are still so unafraid to show up and protest with the big guns — the guns make them feel tough — three years after January. Yet, they do and even scuffle with people they find politically abhorrent. They still have not learned any sense of place in our democracy that violence will not be tolerated.
I do, however, find it telling that so many white, tough guys cover their faces for fear that friends, neighbors, and employees will see them revolting, leading to a negative backlash. You would think if they were so “proud,” they would shout it to the rooftops. They are weak, however, and when not wrapped in the arms of the gun-toting crowd, just a bunch of silly, little scaredy cats.
By the way, their unofficial slogan, “We are everywhere,” indicates their need to feel the love and security of the crowd, and that is why they will ultimately be defeated. The crowd’s ignorance is always eventually defeated by the genius of evolution.
