Biden Is Old, but Trump Is Completely Nuts
Why is everyone bashing Biden for his age, and no one is challenging Trump about his mental health?
Hi, Mr. Elephant. Are you in this room, too?
Okay, let’s all say out loud: President Biden is old. We all are, comparatively, and unless we are exhibiting genuine signs of “failing,” be it physically or mentally, then what is wrong with being old? People like to say that the presidency is so taxing that it is something an octogenarian most surely will struggle with.
According to Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, the presidency is the most physically and mentally challenging job in the world, for which no human can be prepared. I would venture that an 80-year-old would handle these pressures better because of an age-related ability to put things into their proper perspective.
Whereas Joe Biden actually governs and leads, three of Donald Trump’s four years in office were spent on “executive time.” When asked what that meant, Trump insiders said that the president was usually in his White House residence watching TV — governing vicariously through Fox News — and tweeting. Certainly, it’s not the kind of high-pressure stuff that could tax a feeble mind by any means.
The elephant returns
Let’s say it all together: Donald Trump is nuts! He is as crazy as a loon and not in a harmless way like the townie who rides around on a bike adorned with American flags and a boom box in the front basket blasting the soundtrack from Flashdance — there is a fellow like this in Freehold. Trump is dangerously cuckoo for Coca-Puffs!
Most reporters don’t have a problem with mentioning Biden’s age (and it bears repeating that it’s a perfectly legitimate concern as long as their conclusions are supported by facts). Yet the same journalists fail to spell it out for their audiences when Trump does or says something that is completely insane, apart from labeling some of his most outrageous speeches “rants” or saying the former president is “unhinged.” But those are buzzwords and not a serious attempt to spell out that Trump is, to put it in layman’s terms, crazy.
A big part of the reason why the former president’s mental health is not more of a topic of conversation is the so-called Goldwater Rule of the American Psychiatric Association’s (APA) Principles of Medical Ethics. It states that “it is unethical for a psychiatrist to offer a professional opinion [about someone’s mental health] unless he or she has conducted an examination and has been granted proper authorization for such a statement (Trump’s Mental Health Needs to be Part of the Conversation).”
I am not an American psychiatrist, so I am not bound by the “Goldwater Rule.” I will tell you without even the slightest fear that maybe I am being unfair or treading into the waters of hyperbole: Donald Trump is out of his goddamn mind.
From being a pathological liar to a textbook example of malignant narcissism, the former president displays a cluster of disorders that, in other circumstances, might not get him institutionalized but would definitely justify some form of treatment (Trump’s Mental Health Needs to be Part of the Conversation)”.
If Trump were your kid’s bus driver, you would request he be removed from behind the wheel. If he were the head of the local Boy Scouts, you’d file a complaint. If Trump were working a ride at Six Flags and responsible for checking the safety bars, you’d complain to park security. What is it, though, about Trump’s mental illness that so many millions of Americans accept him being the president?
It’s not like we don’t know what ails him as my grandfather used to say — “What ails ya, boy?” We know most of Trump’s disorders, and all of them create the picture of an anti-social, megalomaniac incapable of normal affection for anyone in his life except himself. He expresses his love for his daughter, “She’s so hot that if she weren’t my daughter, I’d be trying to pick her up.” Trump said this when his daughter was a teenager. If there was any question about what he was doing on Jefferey Epstein’s island-get-away, one could suspect that this comment answers that question.
Joe Biden is old, but so is Trump. Joe Biden has proven that he is one of the most capable presidents we have ever had. Donald Trump proved to us that he was the absolute worst we ever had. The only that has changed since Trump left the White House in disgrace is that he is four years older, and the past three years have passed in a fog of delusion and perverted fantasy that he calls reality.
Why is no one talking about this? Please, people, take the gloves off and shout this to the rooftops!
Again great article This is how we look at Biden yes he’s old BUT he has experience that no one candidate could even lie about having. I believe he was a congressman,Senator and a Vice President for eight years decades of street experience. You can go back over forty years and see what he has accomplished . He was a champion of bipartisanship you couldn’t have a better pill to put in the White House after the disastrous Trump. Just to get the sails flying again takes YEARS! Unfortunately like I have mentioned before that I’m surrounded by Trumpets. I can’t even get my mail without someone saying Biden.Standing in line at the grocery store is a challenge with people complaining that it’s Biden’s fault that there food cost are so high their medical bills their electric bills right down to trash bills are all Biden’s fault. It’s getting to be that they say Biden like it’s a four letter word. Oh Biden ! The absolute truth is if they were half an American that they claim to be they would immediately know that Biden doesn’t have a thing to do with it.No president does. It’s called corporate greed yet they are all PRIVATELY owned companies can you imagine Biden getting on the phone and telling anyone of these companies “Hey your charging too much I want you to stop right now” I believe that would fall under communism please correct me if I’m wrong. The Fox News broadcasters( if you could really label them that but that’s another story)shouts it out every day 24/7 it’s Biden’s fault. What they don’t realize what could had happened these last few years is no debate . You have to look for the good from our government yeah I know it’s hard like the IRS has been chasing me for years for $639.42 I paid it and they sent me another bill for same amount and it’s been next to impossible to correct it without a $5000 lawyer fee. I know but damn we do have a lot of good just the roads alone. I know they have potholes but try checking out other countries. They do a good job at protecting us except when it comes to Trump. My point is how can you call yourself a great American yet hate it, hate the religions that aren’t yours hate people of color hate immigrants although we are all immigrants hate hate hate because you don’t have what you think you definitely deserve well look around it isn’t just all the government stop voting in lawyers and Christians vote for common sense and President Biden is the holy grail of common sense.
