Born on April Fools Day, Justice Alito Is Not Fooling Us About the Upside-Down Flag

Good one, Alito — I can call him by his last name because he was born in New Jersey. His excuse for posting the colors upside down holds less water than a Dixie cup. 

A few days after January 6th, the justice and his wife went for a walk. She spotted an anti-Trump sign on a neighbor’s lawn that apparently described the orange menace appropriately — with vulgarities. Mrs. Alito got into an argument with the neighbor, and according to Fox News, he called her the “c-word.” By the way, when Fox News reported on the upside-down flag, they made the whole thing about her being called the c-word and skated over the justice’s offense like nothing ever happened. 

Madam Alito returned home infuriated that the truth about her had been publicly revealed, and she decided to take revenge on the neighbor. Justice Alito said, “I told my wife it wasn’t a good idea, but she did it anyway.” Alito’s other half, neither one of these halves could ever be described as good, proceeded to raise the flag with the stars in the bottom left-hand corner instead of the upper left-hand corner. In that position, she was signaling to the world that the Alito home was aligned with insurrectionists. 

Alito said that a neighbor had posted a sign saying “F**k Trump” near a school bus stop and then a sign attacking his wife, Martha-Ann Alito. On a walk, the justice told Fox, the Alitos got into an argument with the neighbor, who used the term “c**t” at one point. His wife then flew the inverted flag (Upside-down American Flag).

If this was a simple case of, say, nutty American family — like the thousands all over our land that have joined the Trump cult — expressing their loyalty to the criminal and traitorous dethroned ex-president, I would make a note to myself: Avoid those freaks at all costs. There is one small problem here when we are talking about these two pickled-brain, Foxified Trumpists: Samuel Alito is one of the justices on the Supreme Court and one of the most active since 2010 in chipping away at voter’s rights. Alito has been on the land’s highest court since 2005. He does not have the same rights that other oversized t-shirt-wearing dummy Americans have when it comes to expressing support for a violent attempt to overthrow fair elections. 

Alito, like a good Trumpist, dodged any guilt for the “oversight” by tossing his combative, mega-Trumpist wife under the bus. (By the way, I refrained from using the derogatory term “Karen” three years ago after some commenters to an article convinced me how wrong it was to women). Nowadays, conservatives are notorious for dodging responsibility for anything. 

Like the other conservatives on the court, Alitohas completely lost sight of his responsibility to preserve law and order in our society. MAGidiots like to say that Trump’s First Amendment rights are trampled when he uses the bully pulpit of the presidency — and the post-presidency — to attack powerless Americans (like the mother and daughter in Georgia he claimed help Democrats steal the vote), but that is a really just a crock of organic fertilizer. Public figures like presidents and ex-presidents, as well as justices on the Supreme Court, cannot take do things as ridiculously partisan, even seditious, such as hanging flags up in front of their homes that show support for an insurrection.

Alito’s “I told her it wasn’t a good thing to do” justification is something you might say when retelling how your wife put the inflatables out into the pool moments before a thunderstorm hit the neighborhood. 

“Honey, the inflatables are gone. Do you think they blew away?” 

Two Outed MAGidiots on the Court

Alito has demonstrated, thanks to his wife’s actions, that he is a compromised Trumpist. We now know what motivates many of his more egregious anti-democratic decisions. Along with Clarence Thomas, whose allegiances were also outed thanks to antics by his wife, Ginny, 22 percent of the Supreme Court is fully in Trump’s pocket. They will always make their decisions about our nation and our ailing democracy from the viewpoint, “How will this affect Trump?”

I would love to have been a fly at the many backyard barbecues the Thomas’ and Alitos enjoyed together. Four Trumpists sit around plotting the downfall of our nation’s democracy and giggling hysterically at how the rest of us patriots are up in arms about court decisions that move the nation in a more authoritarian, violent, Christian, and white direction. 

Aspiring to be that fly, though, is no longer a thing for me because we now know, thanks to their own stupidity, just how anti-American and Trumpist they really are. Alito and Thomas are demonstrating just what decades of Fox News does to brains. Younger, intelligent people, like the other three Trump-appointed justices, have enough of their faculties left to conceal the effects of the Fox-damaged brain. As the brain ages, the firings and snappings that used to serve as filters for the worst of Fox become weakened, and the unbelievable, the absurd becomes the norm. 

Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas, who replaced Thurgood Marshall on the court, are sick men whose mental faculties should be questioned. Thanks to the wackiness of their respective wives, we have been alerted to what is really going on behind closed doors.
