December 2020: Trump Whines Incessantly About Voter Fraud, and Russia Pulls Off Most Damaging Hack of U.S. Infrastructure in History

In December 2020, I wrote about the future danger of the SolarWinds hack that took place when the “leadership” of our government was moping around the White House, sobbing about having unfairly lost the election. Recently, the jackasses — I mean mules — proved me right. 

Countless aides and eyewitnesses attested that from shortly after the election to January 20th, Trump lost all interest in the duties and responsibilities that befall a president. He was consumed with subverting the results of a fair and democratic election. As a result of his criminal dereliction of duties, our nation’s enemies had a field day. One country, Russia, was caught trying to deploy its malware even further than it had already managed to during the previous years on Trump’s watch. Here is what I wrote on December 18, 2020:

It was first reported, and likely only discovered a few hours earlier, that on December 15, 2020, the most comprehensive and sophisticated hack was conducted by Russia. Government officials, not susceptible to hyperbole or given to emotion, called the theft the most damaging event to our nation’s security ever (One of America’s Darkest Days).

The chickens are coming home to roost. Our intelligence services then warned that the Solarwinds attack was the gift that would keep on giving. Thanks to the war being fought against our nation by then-President Trump, raging as he did against the men and women whose job it was to protect our nation from things like Russia’s cyberattacks, many good professionals retired in frustration or were replaced by politically clueless, Trump-worshipping political hacks. 

One chicken was seen in January in Texas fiddling around with the water supply in a small, Trump-loving Texas town. Investigators hadn’t been able to verify who was behind the hacking, but yesterday, Russian government hackers claimed responsibility on a Telegram channel.

Experts from US cybersecurity firm Mandiant said Wednesday that a hacking group with ties to the Russian government is suspected of carrying out a cyberattack in January that caused a tank at a Texas water facility to overflow.

The hack in the small town of Muleshoe, in north Texas, coincided with at least two other towns in north Texas taking precautionary defensive measures after detecting suspicious cyber activity on their networks, town officials told CNN. The FBI has been investigating the hacking activity, one of the officials said.

The string of incidents did not affect drinking water in the towns. But if it is confirmed that the GRU or one of its proxies was involved, this would mark an escalation in targeting US critical infrastructure for a Russian group often known for focusing on Ukraine (Russian Linked Hacking Group).

Trumpists talk about how Trump was devoted to our country’s defense. Their claims that he made the country “stronger” really come down to a belief — even a hope — that he made the country whiter. No defense or security professional who served with Trump would dare say that Trump made our nation the least bit stronger. 

Here is what some of the people who served with Trump in his administration said about him.

General Mark Milley: 

We don’t take an oath to a country. We don’t take an oath to a tribe. We don’t take an oath to a religion. We don’t take an oath to a king or a queen, or to a tyrant or a dictator. And we don’t take an oath to a wannabe dictator (A President’s Full Cabinet).”

Milley served as Trump’s chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Trump has said that Milley should be executed for his criticisms. 

William Barr was Trump’s Attorney General whose head was shoved so far up Trump’s ass that the orange menace had trouble sitting.

The fact of the matter is he is a consummate narcissist and he constantly engages in reckless conduct that puts his political followers at risk and the conservative and Republican agenda at risk. … He will always put his own interest and gratifying his own ego ahead of everything else, including the country’s interest. There’s no question about it. … He’s like a 9-year-old, a defiant 9-year-old kid, who’s always pushing the glass toward the edge of the table defying his parents to stop him from doing it (A President’s Full Cabinet).”

His national security advisor, John Bolton, who lives and breathes American security had this to say recently.

By the time I left the White House,
I was convinced he was not fit to be president. … I think it is a danger for the United States if he gets a second term (A President’s Full Cabinet).”

Republicans in Congress will try to blame Biden for this recent hack. They will say things like, “See how weak our country has become because of Joe Biden?” None of the Republicans in Congress today made any official statements about the Solarwinds hack. Many of them were too busy getting behind Trump’s voter fraud fraud. 

The Republicans, otherwise known as the American Fascist Party (AFP), make it really too easy for Vladimir Putin and our nation’s enemies. The U.S. government has an amazing array of resources. If the AFP’s elected members were patriots, they would work together with Democrats and the Biden administration to make our nation stronger by fighting against hackers. They won’t, though. They will use this incident, one that will undoubtedly be linked back to the SolarWinds hack of 2020, use it to bludgeon Biden to ensure Trump gets re-elected. 

We have all seen the movie and heard the tales of how the empire crumbled from within. What we are witnessing today in our nation is that moment in history.
