When you drive along the New Jersey Turnpike past Newark Airport, you appreciate the magnitude of the U.S. in small, very modern ways. On one side, you see thousands and thousands of shipping containers waiting to be sent or unpacked. On the other hand, planes touch down on the tarmac so frequently that it seems like a military operation. Most amazingly, and it is not always noticed at first, as it takes a trained eye, a long line of planes floats just above the turnpike, stretching back for miles, waiting to land. It is truly indeed a very American — New Jersey — moment.

America, though, is being made “great again” by Donald Trump — a life-long loser, felon, and sociopath — and while his cult rejoices, the rest of us are being advised by struggling, over-stressed air traffic controllers to avoid flying into one of the most important airports serving the nation’s largest city. Since Trump became president, the friendly skies over the United States, the busiest skies in the world, have been made so unsafe that planes and helicopters of all shapes and sizes have been dropping out of the sky, making all of us feel a bit like the nervous little chicken.

Elon Musk and his band of incel DOGE-bags cuts thousands of jobs from the TSA and FAA resulting turning an already under-staffed first-priority job into a air castrophe waiting to happen. I will never understand why Donald Trump and his M’gidiots so aspire to turn the United States into Russia Fall ’91, but that is precisely what is taking place.

I studied in Russia from one week after the failed coup attempt in Moscow in 1991 to April 2nd, 1992. As a young man who had recently graduated from college, I found the collapsing society wild and scary. Fortunately, though, I was not raising a family and had no obligation to feed anyone but myself. Flush with dollars, I was the wealthiest I might have ever been — there was just nothing to buy!

Everything that had been so predictable, and so Soviet-mediocre, was crumbling. Hospitals were shutting down due to a lack of materials and medicines. Trains and planes were cancelled due to a lack of fuel or electricity. Part of the country moved clocks back, and other parts didn’t. It was chaos, and the chaos wiped away the lives of the young and old. As desperation mounted, men joined the mafia, bureaucrats demanded payoffs, and many women sold their bodies to get food for the week. Russians hated this time because a proud society was forced to its knees and made to beg the corrupt government, each other, and the world for help just to put a dinner on the table.

That Russia, the collapsing and embarrassed one, is the kind of America that Trump and his cultists wish upon all of us. If you ask a cultist, they will tell you that the four years under Biden were the worst in American history. Of course, they are wrong, but they only think that because that is what they heard repeatedly from Trump, MAGA politicians in Congress, and the right-wing propaganda machine. The simple fact, though, that suddenly the skies over our country are now so unsafe that air traffic controllers are speaking out so openly because they fear for the safety of the American public, is so disturbing as to warrant days, if not weeks, of protests. Everything that made our nation a first-world one is being slowly removed.

But for what reason? Why is Donald Trump so hell bent on destroying our country? Is it because he is nostalgic for an America of 1972, a time when he was young, filled with piss and vinegar, and probably as close as he would ever get to his daddy loving him? Or is it because he is genuinely a Russian agent and obligated to weaken the country as much as possible to please Putin?

No one knows — well, someone knows, and that might be why Trump is now emptying the CIA of its agents.

The grand experiment of the United States of America is over. It had to end one day, but who could have ever imagined it would end with such a sad, ignorant, low-life traitor like Trump?
