It Has Begun
Trump's leading candidate for Attorney General will be the one making the case to arrest Democrats and political opponents.
Mike Davis, founder of The Article 3 Project, says this about Democrats.
He has promised to “rain hell” on Washington from a Trump administration perch come January 2025 and to eviscerate institutions that he says treat Trump unfairly. He calls Democrats “Marxists” and “evil” and has joked — in ways that many others don’t always take jokingly — that he would send journalists and former GOP personalities including George Conway and Tim Miller to “the gulag” and would put migrant kids in “cages.” “My goal,” he once told me, “is for the Supreme Court to dismantle most of the federal government (Trump’s Chief Legal Defender).”
Davis is the leading candidate for the Attorney General. He is the one who came up with the conspiracy theory that the Biden administration, via the Merrick Garland-led justice department, weaponized the Department of Justice to prosecute Donald Trump for the crimes he committed on January 6th. First, let’s address the ridiculous part of this notion. Merrick Garland is one of the weakest attorneys general we ever had. It is said that Joe Biden has cursed him over his timidity on more than one occasion. Second, the irony that using the powers of justice to go after a criminal is somehow a perversion of those powers shows us how sick and motivated the people around Trump are to destroy our institutions for the sake of propping up an authoritarian leader.
Davis, a stocky, redheaded lapsed Irish Catholic who calls himself Trump’s “viceroy,” is not officially affiliated with the Trump campaign. But he is undoubtedly close to Trump. In addition to being openly discussed as a candidate for attorney general, or acting attorney general, there is the more likely possibility of a position as White House counsel, chief of staff at the Department of Justice or as an outside adviser to Trump to select a candidate for any of those roles.
“Donald Trump loves him,” Caroline Wren, the GOP fundraiser (no relation to me), told me, adding that she hears from Republican mega-donors and senators who salivate over Davis’ appearances on Bannon’s “War Room.”
“If he isn’t the attorney general, he’s going to play some sort of role,” she said.
Donald Trump Jr. called Davis in a statement to POLITICO “the tip of the spear defending my father from these corrupt Democrat prosecutors.” He added: “He’s exactly the type of fighter that I’d like to see involved in a second Trump administration (Trump’s Chief Legal Defender).”
Donald Trump Jr. calls him “the tip of the spear.” So, very soon, we will learn just how sharp and long that tip really is. It will be coming for many of our fellow citizens, and there won’t be anything we can do about it.
Donald Trump will break many promises made on the campaign trail. He doesn’t really care because even he knows his time is limited both in terms of his mental health and he only has four years. However, the promises he will never break are the ones he made to seek retribution for being mocked and “mistreated” after his attempted 2021 coup. He will also fulfill every promise he made to ensure he becomes the most powerful president in U.S. history and the most powerful leader in the world.
Mike Davis is top on that list.
