It's Happening Right Before Our Eyes
Recognizing he got his ass kicked at the debate, Trump is throwing everything at the wall, and things are beginning to stick!
“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
I don’t. Donald Trump hates her. He wrote this on his Truth Social account yesterday, shortly after gym class and before lunch. Mr. Jones in wood shop made Donnie apologize, but he refused and was given detention.
Donald Trump got his ass kicked by Kamala Harris at their debate, and now he’s lashing out. His craziness is reaching new levels, and while I would like to say that it’s fun watching an elderly man as disgusting as Trump rant and rage about losing his marbles in public, what concerns me is that the din of lunacy actually, eventually, works. Trump’s relentlessness is like the 25th frame in a movie. Most of us tune him out, but we hear it nonetheless. Our subconsciousness registers it. Most of us here won’t be affected by Trump, but there are many less-informed, less certain people for whom the constant chirping will sway them to the dark side.
Immigrants are eating dogs and cats in Springfield, Ohio.
Immigrant gangs have taken over Aurora, Colorado.
The key to this hateful message is “immigrants,” xenophobia, and the soil being watered by the hate grows the perception that if Kamala Harris is elected, then America will be lost. We know it’s nonsense, but thousands, maybe even tens of thousands, can’t know this because they aren’t smart enough — they aren’t informed sufficient — and those thousands make the difference in this election. Trump is winning the messaging war even though he has no message. It’s all stream of consciousness, and Elon Musk is helping him by repeating the crazy on Twitter.
(Why isn’t every major company in America rejecting Twitter? Why is Musk not being run out of Tesla? Out of our country?)
Former president Donald Trump has long inhabited a bizarre world of his own creation. He rewrites history — or makes it up entirely — to aggrandize himself, denigrate others and spread the basest of lies.
It keeps getting worse.
Trump can’t accept the widely held verdict that Harris outdid him, just like he couldn’t accept that President Joe Biden defeated him four years ago. On Friday night, during a rally in Las Vegas that was replete with baseless claims about a variety of topics, he spun up the tale that Harris was receiving the questions during the debate. Elevating a conspiracy theory that popped up on social media, he falsely claimed she had hearing devices in her earrings, that she was being coached on what to say in real time. He did it in classic Trump style, citing unspecified hearsay as proof.
“I hear she got the questions, and I also heard she had something in her ear,” he said. ABC News, which hosted the debate, denied these false claims, but Trump cares little for the truth. He prefers to spread lies to excuse his own poor performance and to stir up his supporters to think the game was somehow rigged. All that does is further divide the country (Trump Can’t Accept His Poor Debate).
With no evidence, Trump is accusing ABC of asking the vice president questions in advance. “They say she had a listening device in her ear,” Trump said at his rally. Using his usual tactic of “they say,” dopey people believe him because they believe everything he says even though he never backs up anything with facts. Trump also insisted that Hillary cheated at their debate when she mopped up the floor with him.
We can laugh — and many people are — at him, but Trump is a master at manipulating not-so-bright people and the politically ignorant. He is a “stable genius” in this area, and few are on his level. Take note of how little we hear lately about Ms. Harris and how much we hear about Trump’s craziness. This is the same thing that happened in 2016. Hillary Clinton was talking about helping working Americans and Trump was just lying about everything he could. In the end, Trump was regarded as the savior and Hillary the demon.
Now, polls show that his talk about tariffs and how they will help the average American by making other countries pay their “fair share” is finding a receptive audience. By keeping the spotlight on himself, bits and pieces of some kind of message are landing.
Now, he has another alleged assassination attempt against him. They milked the first one for all they could, even making a video with the hateful Melania whose accent was so thick it was hard to understand if she was asking people to look for the “tooth” or “truth,” and now he will use this one — even though nothing happened — to turn him into a “see, they are all against him” moment.
“But God keeps saving him so he can save America.”
That is what some not-so-bright Americans in swing states will think when they cast votes in November.
