The $64,000 Question: Why Isn't the Media Covering Trump's Project 25 Promise?
The fire smolders like a good, old-fashioned leaf fire in October, which proves the axiom that when there is smoke, 'a fascist revolution is on the horizon.'
We are all abuzz about it — those of us who are obsessed with politics. All of us who pay attention to not what Trump says but what his much smarter minions are preparing behind the curtains in his lair — all of us not “too busy” to care about our nation’s future. I put that in quotes to register my skepticism. I don’t think people are as busy as they think, but this is a topic for another article.
If you launch a Google search for Project 25, you will get a lot of fringe media warnings about the danger of the plan. You will see that people are discussing it on Redditt, and Robert Reich, Bill Clinton’s esteemed Secretary of Labor, recently wrote this on his Facebook page:
Project 2025 is a nearly 1000-page step-by-step playbook for Donald Trump’s second term that would literally turn America into an authoritarian MAGA police state and shred our most cherished freedoms.
But most Americans haven’t heard a word about it, because the mainstream media has almost totally ignored it. So we need to get the word out. Fast.

At nearly a thousand pages, Project 2025 is longer than most Stephen King novels, and a lot scarier. The Associated Press called it “a plan to dismantle the US government and replace it with Trump’s vision” — and if anything, they’re understating the threat (Robert Reich Facebook).
In your search on Google, you will see that some more mainstream media have picked up on Project 25 but only to report that Trump is disavowing the blueprint for the fascist takeover of our government. “Trump says he knows nothing about it.” Phew, that’s a relief; now we can continue our lives and not worry about this nightmare becoming a reality.
Donald Trump distanced himself Friday from a high-profile effort to shape his policy — and his campaign warned that they are prepared to discard the group’s attempt to build a database of conservatives to staff his administration.
Trump, on Truth Social, denounced “ridiculous and abysmal” statements by the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025 after a string of controversies around issues from abortion to executive power.
Shortly afterwards, a top campaign adviser went further in comments to Semafor, addressing Project 2025’s hiring database: “If you’re an organization that is purporting to be pushing ‘Trump policies,’ it’s probably the last organization that we’ll take references from for personnel,” the aide said (Trump Disavows Would-Be Allies).
I can hear it now when the good, good-working YouTubers ask attendees at a future Trump rally of the cult: “So, what do you think of Project 25?” It’s some freaks pushing their visions. It’s not Trump’s vision. He already said he doesn’t like it.
Trump says it; they believe it, right? This is how it works in Trumplandia. The fact that 66 former Trump administration officials currently work at the Heritage Foundation is not something we are supposed to pay much attention to — and so it’s not something that CNN, the New York Times, or anyone else feels compelled to report on.
Trump insists he knows none of the people working on Project 25.
Project 2025 director Paul Dans was chief of staff at the Office of Personnel Management under Trump
Associate director Spencer Chretien was a former special assistant to Trump and associate director of Presidential Personnel
Adviser Russell Vought worked in Trump’s Office of Management and Budget (A Wish List for a Trump Presidency).
I gathered this information on the BBC, which reported on Project 25 today. Why didn’t our esteemed newspapers challenge this obvious lie when Trump disavowed the project? The headlines challenging him could have been deliciously snarky and informative. Most articles reporting on Trump’s denying any knowledge of the 900-page document only get to the actual connections 3/4 of the way into the article. Most people read the first paragraph thoroughly, scan it, and re-engage with the conclusion. The fact that the one that needs to be shouted from the rooftops is buried.
“Biden Accuses Trump of Pushing Fascist Takeover with Project 25, but Trump Says He Knows Nothing About It.”
Again, “Ah, that’s a relief,’ we can go on with life.
Dopes! This is our chance to have the historical re-do. The world can wake up in time and prevent the next Mein Kampf, but something prevents the “lame stream media” from giving a rat’s ass. What are these editors doing in their morning meetings? Why are they killing stories linked to this? It almost seems like people want Trump to get elected. The liberal media is so concerned with being fair to Trump that it doesn’t realize how much it lets him get away. And yet, more ink has been spilled writing about Biden’s need to step down, which further paves the way for a second Trump presidency and the implementation of Project 25.
Here is how the BBC — way to go, guys, finally someone paying attention — is reporting on Project 25’s policies and solutions for climate change.
The document proposes slashing federal money for research and investment in renewable energy, and calls for the next president to “stop the war on oil and natural gas”.
Carbon-reduction goals would be replaced by efforts to increase energy production and security.
The paper sets out two competing visions on tariffs, and is divided on whether the next president should try to boost free trade or raise barriers to exports.
But the economic advisers suggest that a second Trump administration should slash corporate and income taxes, abolish the Federal Reserve and even consider a return to gold-backed currency(A Wish List for a Trump Presidency).
Dear sleepy editor at the Times/Post/CNN or whoever, here is a nice article to push across your platforms. Juxtapose a planet baking under record-breaking temperatures and show what a future Trump administration plans to do about it.
“As the World Daily Breaks Heat Records Linked to the Burning of Fossil Fuels, Trump’s Project 25 Proposes It’s Necessary to Burn More”
There are so many ways this horror story, known as Project 25, could be used to defeat Trump; all we need are editors willing to do their jobs.
