The August Surprise: Michelle Obama Agrees to Run for President on Dem Ticket

Kamala stays on as VP, and Blue likely to gain control of Congress.

I had a dream. It was the kind of dream that when you wake up in the morning, you close your eyes again and try to worm your way back into its grandeur and warmth. I managed only to get to the edge of it, a precipice of sorts, from where I stood up high, looking down at an America that had just elected former First Lady Michelle Obama, the 47th president of the United States. 

Then, my son jumped onto the bed to wake me up. That is when I realized how important it was for my dream to become a reality — for him, selfishly for me, us, and most importantly, our American nation. Many of the MAGA and the Trumplicans are nasty and bad people. They are as bad as him. Many, however, are sick and don’t realize it. When you watch Fox News 12 hours a day for 28 years — or in some cases, your entire adult life — it’s not possible to not support Trump. Fox makes billions off of promoting chaos and lying shamelessly about Biden’s record. A Michelle Obama presidency is also for the fringe MAGA who, if they had an opportunity, would actually remove themselves from the cult.

Leaving the cult, however, is too difficult at this time because the propaganda has been so effective. The brazen lie that Biden is the worst president exists because Trump has been declared the worst president. As Biden said at the debate, “When you lost in 2020, something inside you snapped. You can’t lose. You are a whiner.” Many historians agree that Trump will be known as the worst in our history or the bottom five. This makes him crazy, so he came up with the “worst president” moniker. Biden has accomplished more than any president in the past 60 years — fact. Trump accomplished next to nothing.

Cultists cannot leave the herd because they would be going to what they have been told is the “worst president.” A Michelle Obama candidacy would permit some to slip unnoticed out the back door and into the endless energy of her nationwide movement. Michelle’s candidacy would unite women from all walks of life. It would unite Blacks, Whites, and Hispanics. It would unite the rich, the middle class, and the poor. Michelle, for president, would not just energize the Democratic base but also help independents and never-Trumpers join the movement.

Michelle for President would genuinely be about making America great again. 

This is a real choice, and it is something that I hope Michelle and Barack are discussing this morning as they sit out on the back porch sipping on coffee and going over the Sunday papers. To sit back and watch and wait for the possible election of Donald Trump in November is a passivity that I will have no problem labeling treason. Democrats cannot let this happen, and after the debate, which I still say was not as bad as the “over-thinkers” say it was, we realize that many Americans are now waiting for the removal of Biden. Whitmer or Newsom would greatly help, but Michelle guarantees victory in November.

Michelle could appoint Whitmer or Newsom as her vice president, win the office, and then resign in two years if she didn’t want to be president for four years. The most crucial thing is that we win in November and maximize the energy from her candidacy to push the fascists out of both houses of Congress. Four more years would also give us time to slow the SCOTUS coup and replace judges pushing the fascist agenda of the Republican Party. It would also give more time to fight for the right to vote, which many Americans are losing due to Republican laws in the states — a right granted to them in 2013 by SCOTUS. If Michelle won, four more years would likely mean eight more years. A 12-year block of Democratic policies would be so beneficial to the state of the world.
