Three Scenarios for Trump's Military Parade
Regardless of how it plays out, the outcome results from 40 years of conservatism run amok.
I no longer regard tomorrow’s military parade as some sort of Rubicon for our country. We long ago passed that historical, and figurative, river on our way toward authoritarianism once Trump took office and appointed the most incompetent and anti-American cabinet in the nation’s history. Today, everyone serving in the various departments that run our nation has sworn oaths of loyalty not to the Constitution but to Donald Trump. It is a toss-up to decide which one is the most incompetent, but one thing unites all of them: They all work tirelessly to destroy our nation’s political system and our democracy. So, tomorrow’s parade to honor the dictator-wannabe is nothing more than just icing on the cake.
The world will witness an expression of desperation tomorrow. Donald Trump’s presidency is failing. Most Americans, except for the 30 percent who are cultists, realize that Trumpism is a disease. The chaos that has gripped the country and the world since January 20th is wearing people down, and the honeymoon, which usually lasts 100 or so, long ago ended. Everyone is sick and tired of seeing and hearing him. At this time, the man who bankrupts everything he touches is bankrupting the United States of America. He was handed an economy that was on the brink of booming, and he tanked it. Trump is useless, and the political pundits were already predicting a political bloodbath in 2026.
Trump knows that much, much more in the country will get worse thanks to this incompetence, criminality, and the rule of the country by a kleptocracy. He knows that Main Street will get steamrolled thanks to his ignorance. So, rather than worry himself or the Republican Party about the consequences of his pro-Trump Organization policies, he instead will declare a national emergency and suspend the mid-terms. The deployment of troops in LA was the first cut. The threat that more will be deployed if anyone protests his birthday party will be the fatal cut to our democracy, especially because tomorrow, massive protests are planned against him. Republican governors are readying their respective National Guard units to go into action against Americans exercising their 1st Amendment rights.
The military stationed on the streets of LA is there for 60 days. The woman-hating secretary of defense and Fox lies anchor, Pete Hegseth, has said that unless things calm down considerably, the deployment of the troops on the streets of blue cities could be extended indefinitely. Everyone in the Trump administration is hinting at the deployment of more soldiers because, as they so carelessly say, “People protesting the president’s commonsense policies are enemies of the nation, vermin, paid actors and foreign agents.”
A U.S. senator yesterday was roughed up, thrown to the ground, and handcuffed for asking South Dakota Barbie, Kristi Noem, a question at a press conference. A New Jersey congresswoman has been brought up on charges for “assaulting” a mob of ICE agents. It is no longer the rhetoric and lies of Trump about the weaponization of the justice department; it is now reality, and Trump is arrested and seated Democratic members of Congress solely because they disagree with him.
All of this leads me to consider three possible outcomes for tomorrow’s military parade.
Remember Anwar Sadat
Dreaming is still not outlawed. So many will say they are against violence, and let me say that I, too, don’t support it, but if you give it serious thought, Trumpism doesn’t end with a few election wins. So much in our society has to change to purge the country of the lies, hate, criminality, and incompetence.
If you doubt me when I say massive structural changes will be necessary, pop on over to Fox News and watch an hour of the blatant lies they pour into the minds of hundreds of millions of Americans 24/7. Fox depicts the LA protests as Berlin 1945, but in reality, almost nothing is happening. Only a coup of some sort can rid the nation and world of Fox News. The Murdoch family running that organization should be jailed. Yes, I know I am stomping all over the 1st Amendment, but isn’t Trump? Aren’t the Republicans? Do you think we will have a voice this time next year?
The chances, however, of some patriotic officers acting in such a manner as seen above tomorrow are next to zero. As we saw at Fort Bragg this past week, much of the military is compromised, mostly because military bases have Fox News running in the background in public spaces like the PX and dining facilities (chow halls). Troops aren’t being educated that their mission is to protect the Constitution, but to protect the president.
The militarization of everything
With the LA protest “under control” thanks to the “decisive action of our great leader,” Republicans will no longer feel any hesitancy in using military force to crush all dissent. First Amendment rights will only apply to Americans supporting Trump. Troops at Fort Bragg the other day were told that if they disagreed with Trump’s policies, they should not attend the rally at which Dear Leader spoke. One has to wonder if the troops who opted out of attendance at the rally were in any way punished, or if they could be penalized in the future by not showing loyalty to Trump.
In the image above, we see Americans in the 1930s demonstrating in support of Nazi Germany. These are “America-firsters.” After Saturday’s parade and the official militarization of the country, will we see more open displays of American fascism supported by paramilitary groups as well as the military?
They are coming for our opinions
Republicans, cultists, and conservatives in general love to talk about how Democrats are “coming for your guns.” Just like climate change isn’t a Chinese conspiracy (and Biden isn’t an AI robot, and Michelle Obama isn’t a man, etc.), Democrats have regrettably never attempted to take anyone’s weapons.
Nonetheless, Republicans and Trump are after our thoughts and opinions. They are forcing universities to think and act the way they regard as most American. They are attacking corporate and legacy media, which have already mostly fallen in line, and independent media. Anything that offers an opinion or thought that doesn’t align with the cult is open to harassment by the entirety of the federal government’s power. Every aspect of the government is now compromised: The Justice Department, the FBI, and the Department of Homeland Security. The Department of Defense is now more focused on harassing American citizens than keeping the country safe from Putin or our other external enemies.
Government contracts with Palantir and the use of instrusive AI will soon prevent each one of us from expressing thoughts and ideas considered by the MAGA cult as disloyal to the Dear Leader. This consequence of tomorrow’s parade is already being implemented, but the parade will be like a debutant ball for the criminalization of free thought.
Folks, it’s Friday the 13th, and as always, I am sorry for being so negative. But the shit has hit the fan, and tomorrow, it will be switched on high — take cover!
