Trump Never Was (and Would Never Be) a Strong and Feared President
What Foxified Americans and MAGidiots don't understand - and never will - is that a Trump presidency is a gift to our enemies

Vladimir Putin loved having Donald Trump in the White House. Trump’s disastrous four years weakened our country in ways only Al Qaeda was capable of on 9/11. Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping share an affinity, if not an obsession, for bashing the world order put in place by the United States after World War II.
They regard America’s rules as being against their efforts to oppress freedom throughout the lands they reign over. Putin rules over Russia for the sake of enriching himself and his cronies. Should anyone shine a light on his corruption or deny him more opportunities to steal and murder, then he commits crimes like the war in Ukraine. Putin’s thirst for blood does not stop with foreign conquests. He kills off his fellow citizens at a rate Russia hasn’t seen since the blood-soaked days of Stalin.
Xi Jinping is the dictator of China. He rules with an iron hand and will, without hesitation, crush anything threatening his complete control over all of China. Hong Kong was violently subjugated, and Xi was constantly threatening Taiwan. Long-respected members of the Communist Party have been publically removed from Party meetings and banished. Xi’s reaction to the outbreak of COVID very likely led to the spread of the virus, which ultimately became a pandemic.
The broken, embarrassing, and diseased presidency of Donald Trump was the gift that kept giving. For four years, with each disgraceful, anti-democratic, racist, xenophobic comment or act by Trump, Putin, and Xi smiled while nodding their heads and said calmly: “Look at what is going on over there. We’ve been saying it forever. America is broken. Can you really trust them to protect you?”
Trump’s presidency empowered Putin, Xi, the North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, President Recep Erdogan of Turkey, Hungary’s President Viktor Orban, and Brazil’s “Trump” Jair Bolsonaro. Trump showed the racists and criminals of the world that he was not going to stand up for American values anymore. His position was that if you want to oppress, arrest, and murder your own people, then so be it — the United States was not going to interfere. Trump unraveled the spool of liberal democracy that had become an aspirational goal for many countries and looked the other way as dictators and despots like those mentioned above established regional bases of power by crushing human rights and corruption.
There is a solid minority of delusional Americans who ignorantly believe that the Trump presidency somehow made the United States a stronger, feared, and so respected country.
Cheryl Sharp, a 47-year-old sales associate who was among the many Iowans turned away from a filled-to-capacity Trump rally last month, sounded pretty confident she knew why Donald Trump was so appealing to many voters. She said his most important quality for her and many others was strength: He had the fortitude to keep the country safe, avoid new wars and ensure the economy hummed along.
“You want someone strong, globally, so that it creates mutual respect with other countries, and maybe a little bit of fear,” she told me. “Yes, it’s true, not everyone likes him. It’s good not to be liked. Being strong is better.” Sharp readily conceded that not everything Trump said was great, but she saw that as part of the right personality to be president. “You gotta be a little crazy, maybe, to make sure other countries respect and fear us,” she said. “And he can run the country like a business, and they will leave him alone (A Strongman President).”
People like this woman Cheryl Sharp, who believe Trump was somehow effective and the U.S. more feared during his presidency, are historically ignorant. Ms. Sharp, to be polite, is stupid. Her opinion is laughable, but sadly, there is a tremendous amount of stupid people who are permitted to vote in our country.
Trump’s presidency was the worst in our history. He was the most ineffective and least intelligent president we have ever had. He is a criminal, and if not for the fascist Republican Party, he would have been impeached by the full Congress, at least for the January 6th insurrection.
The chaos that every day became our reality led to a self-purging of the professionals from all parts of our government. America is a massive and complicated country that needs smart people running it. Under Trump, the professionals, sickened by the corruption and chaos, fled, and the political appointees and incompetent racists took over.
Donald Trump’s record is all the Biden people need to win re-election, but sadly, no message is still being formulated. Between now and the election, Biden’s people should remind the nation what a Trump presidency was like. The internet is filled with his craziness. Republicans in charge of anything leads to chaos, corruption, and tax cuts for the super-rich, stagnation — just look at the Republican-held House.
It’s time to remind people just how impotent, useless, and corrupt Trump was and will be.
