Trump Tells Cult Greenland and Canada Would Be Lucky to Join the US
Sadly, most Americans - not just cultists - actually think he is right.
There are places around the South, such as county fairs, carnivals, church basements, and high school gymnasiums, where Americans who can’t afford dental care can get free treatment. People come from miles around, and some camp out overnight to make sure they will get into the venue before the doctors close the doors. The dentists who donate their skills should be commended for giving up their time — the patients pitied.
I once saw a local Tennessee news channel reporting on one such event. There was a sense of awe in the voice-over. It almost felt like at any moment, one of the good doctors would raise their hands and part the heavens beckoning the Lord Jesus Himself to come on down for a check-up and a cleaning. The camera swiveled toward a heavy-set woman who was clearly struggling with her dentures. She seemed to be dot-drying tears in her eyes. The journalist had a live one, so she raced toward the woman.
“Aww, ma’am, why are you crying?”
“I am just so grateful for these good Samaritans. I haven’t been able to chew on whole food for nearly a year. This evening, I plan on ordering myself a burger with all the fixings….these doctors will inherit the Earth with their kindness.”
The camera panned around the gymnasium. There were no less than 50 dental chairs set up, and hundreds of people gathered, waiting patiently.
“We are so lucky to be born in this amazing country. God Bless America,” the woman said as her lips flapped against her gums.
“Yes, indeed, only in America,” the blond-haired Fox News host-in-waiting smiled. “Jim, back to you.”
The Mid-South Mission of Mercy (MidMOM) is a free, two-day dental clinic for under-served and under-insured people living in Memphis and the surrounding Mid-South area. Since 2016, we have provided over 10.5 million dollars worth of dentistry to more than 13,000 patients in the greater Memphis area with the help of more than 11,000 volunteers. The next MidMOM clinic will be held Friday, January 24 & Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, TN (Mid-South Mission of Mercy).
No one in Canada, let alone Greenland, has to worry about whether they can afford dental care. The citizens of Denmark and Greenland, because they are part of Denmark, have more freedom than the average American. There are fewer restrictions on what people can do in their daily lives, fewer laws on the books, and overall, just a safer and more contented feel among the citizens of Denmark. Trumpists especially, but many Americans, are told a fairytale that the United States is the best place to live on Earth.
I love my country, America, but it is by far not the best place to live. Having lived in many different societies and traveled all over, I can tell you that the quality of life in Denmark and Canada is significantly higher than the quality of life for the average American. Being able to own guns or have massive McMansions that use more energy than ten homes do in Denmark does not make America better.
Income inequality in the U.S. is devastating our nation. The old axiom that the poor are getting poorer is more relevant than ever before, not so much because there has been a sudden downturn in the fortunes of the poor and working classes but because the right in America has welcomed an oligarchy and governs solely to protect the interests of the chosen few billionaires. The government is being turned on its head and weaponized against its neediest citizens.
President Biden did as much as he was able to make the lives of Main Street better, but thanks to the entirety of the “other Party,” Republicans in this case, refusing to go along with anything the president tried to do, his ability to make life better was greatly limited. Today, for the first time in history, we can say without a doubt that the federal government will do nothing, and won’t even try to do anything, to make life better for the average American on Main Street. This is not the case in Denmark or Canada. While Americans love socialism, they talk all day long about how the worst thing that can happen to the country is socialism — Obamacare is very popular among Trumpists, but they hate the name of it. Obamacare is socialism. Unemployment benefits are a form of socialism.
If the average American was able to experience the benefits of the average citizen of Denmark or Canada, they would never want to give them up. The average American would welcome living in a country where gun violence, drug addiction, and teen births are some of the lowest in the world. In Tennessee, for example, there were nearly 1500 gun-related deaths last year. In Greenland, there were 11, of which 8 were by suicide. Canada had more than Greenland but less than Tennessee, with 1300 or so.
Canadians and the citizens of Greenland would gain very little or nothing by becoming part of the United States; in fact, they would lose more including freedom.
It only took one week, but the embarrassment of our country’s worst president in history is yet again our very own freaky reality show. We can’t avoid it, and rightly so, the world won’t let us. We let Trump 2.0 happen, and now everyone has earned the right to pile on and make us feel stupid as shit — like a bunch of coneheaded dunces!
