Trump VP Hopeful Promises to Break the Law If Selected
Elise Stefanik tells us she would never have made the same mistake Mike Pence did on January 6th
I never thought I would say it but thank God for Mike Pence. As unimpressive and religiously bizarre as he is, Mike Pence has one redeeming quality. On January 6th, 2021, he demonstrated that he was more loyal to the U.S. Constitution than to his sociopathic boss and dictator wannabe, Donald Trump.
Elise Stafanik, who, prior to January 6th, was an anti-Trump Republican, but has since assumed the first spot in line for sniffing Trump’s undies and loving it, has announced to the world that if he she had been in Pence’s shoes, then “Constitution be damned, she would have helped Trump stop the peaceful transfer of power and carried through with a coup.”
House Republican Conference Chair Rep. Elise Stefanik, one of the leading prospects to become President Donald Trump’s running mate, said she ‘would not have done’ what former Vice President Mike Pence did to certify the presidential election on January 6, 2021.
In an interview with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on Thursday night, Stefanik was asked what she would have done the day of the Capitol riots if she were vice president and was in charge of leading Congress’ certification of each state’s vote.
“I would not have done what Mike Pence did,” she answered. “I don’t think that was the right approach (Trump’s Potential Future VP).”
What Mike Pence did on January 6th was without a question, and any 6th grader would know this, the right thing. If a person wanted to pull off a coup on January 6th, then yes, Mike Pence did the wrong thing. Pence’s actions on January 6th made him a hated man among the Foxified and MAGidiots and doomed his political future. Nonetheless, future America said thank you to Mike Pence because he didn’t act in the way Elise Stefanik, one of the most vomitous humans in the political arena today, says she would have — and potentially could, should Trump win and she becomes the vice president.
Stefanik is telling us that if she gets into a position where she is one heartbeat or one severe episode of dementia that Trump clearly has, away from the presidency, the US Constitution will not serve as her guide for leading the nation. She is telling us that the rule of law will be dead on arrival should she become the nation’s commander-in-chief.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is not some fringe whack job on par with Marjorie Taylor Greene or Lauren Boebert, but this is a woman who is actually quite smart and sane. She is so calculating that post-January 6th, when she saw that Liz Cheney was doomed politically for taking on Trump, she recreated herself overnight to become the biggest supporter of Trump — and now she is one of the leaders in a party that openly expresses a desire to kill America’s democracy for the sake of, yes, Donald Trump.
Legal experts from all across the political spectrum stated clearly that there was no way possible for Mike Pence to have acted differently on January 6th. Any action that would not have resulted in a certification of the vote, would have been criminal negligence on behalf of Pence.
Elise Stafanik didn’t say what she would have done differently, and she refused to comment when asked if it would be okay for Kamala Harris not to certify the vote should Trump win this year. Stefanik is a very dangerous person primarily because she is not stupid. As I said, she’s not a whack job like Marjorie Tayler Greene, but someone with the potential to actually think rationally at times.
This is exactly what scares me so much about the people who would surround Trump during a second term. They will understand much better how to play to his sickness and so be better positioned to turn our nation into a full-on totalitarian regime.
I fear Trump less should he win a second term. I fear those who will play him like the way our nation’s enemies played him during his first term. Manipulating Trump is not hard, and there are a lot of people like Elise Stefanik who are already preparing for their moment in the sun. Should they get hold of our nation in 2024, the chapter on America’s great experiment will have been completed.
And we all will suffer the consequences.
