What the J6 Pardons Mean to Me (and Probably Many of Us Patriots)
On a side note: Was not voting in support of Gaza really worth it?
Don’t get confused by this image. These traitors are not helping a fallen police officer. They are taking advantage of this moment by beating him and stomping him. Another policeman, not seen here, had already died. After being severely beaten, he collapsed and died of a heart attack. These animals, members of the Trumpist cult, have all been released from prison. One of the first things Trump did in returning America to “greatness” was to release this vermin, all of it convicted by juries of their peers, from prison.
It was a shameful act by a despicable small man. Donald Trump does not understand, nor does he care, what that simple act means for our country. By wiping the slate clean for those criminals, Trump demonstrated to his cult that for him and them, the nation’s laws don’t apply. Donald Trump should be in prison, but the system, beginning with Merrick Garland, failed us. The Supreme Court failed us. Congress (Republicans) failed the nation. Trump told the world and the scum residing in trailers, McMansions, and basements across the country that violence in “his” name will be forgiven. Trump told the cultist losers that he has their back, so should they hurt any of us — and it can be shown that we hated him — then it’s okay. A cultist removing a radical — meaning someone not in the cult — is actually a patriotic act.
As I wrote long before the inauguration, Trump would pardon them J6 traitors. I was not surprised, and I let it roll off my back because there is now so much more we will lose because of him. Nonetheless, I had hoped there might be some pushback from Republican senators. Crickets. The Fraternal Order of the Police and the International Order of Chiefs of Police blasted the pardons:
The largest police union in the US, which endorsed Donald Trump during his campaign, said Trump’s decision to pardon more than 1,500 people convicted over the January 6 insurrection “sends a dangerous message”, in a statement on Tuesday.
The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), which endorsed Trump in September 2024, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) warned that the blanket clemency offered to rioters — including those convicted of violent offenses, and several leaders of the attack on the Capitol — threatened Americans’ safety.
“Crimes against law enforcement are not just attacks on individuals or public safety — they are attacks on society and undermine the rule of law. Allowing those convicted of these crimes to be released early diminishes accountability and devalues the sacrifices made by courageous law enforcement officers and their families.
“When perpetrators of crimes, especially serious crimes, are not held fully accountable, it sends a dangerous message that the consequences for attacking law enforcement are not severe, potentially emboldening others to commit similar acts of violence (Sends Dangerous Message).”
First, let me say, shut up!
You endorsed Trump, the 34-time felon who promised from day 1 he would pardon these criminals, over one of the toughest attorney generals California ever had. She put criminals in jail. Trump releases violent criminals from prison. Your cowardice is too late and not welcome, so go eff yourselves. You could have prevented this, but I can’t blame you alone. There are also the ungrateful shitheads whose pensions were saved by Biden, and then they voted for Trump, who promises to crush the unions.
With the flick of a pen and a few mangled sentences, Donald Trump firmly put the United States in the same class as Russia, Iran, Yemen, and every other despotic dictatorship. It has long been the case, but more so now than ever. The United States no longer occupies the moral high ground and so cannot dictate to anyone what is good and evil. Once a nation loses that moral high ground internationally, it is not long before they turn their powers of oppression to the domestic front.
Trump has set the precedent that political violence, for his sake, is pardonable behavior. Soon, he will declare an emergency against the resistance forming, and then it will become legally acceptable to use violence against us. If you think this is impossible, just look back at the last 72 hours since Trump 2.0 commenced. Everything is now possible.
That leads me to the 17 million Americans who voted in 2020 but did not turn out in 2024. Life in 2020 due to Trump and the pandemic was not good, so more Americans voted for Joe Biden than any presidential nominee — 81 million to 74 million. It was a real landslide and not what Trump calls one today. In 2024, 76.6 million for Trump and 74.4 million for Harris. Where did seven million votes go? Let’s assume that a million or two went to Trump, giving him 78.6. If five million went to VP Harris, she would have won with 79.4 million votes — she would have undoubtedly picked up a few swing states.
A reader of an article I wrote recently told me about his 20-something grandson. He explained how kids his age en masse refused to vote for Democrats because of Gaza. The kids felt that Democrats had abandoned them, so they wanted to “teach” them how to behave. He also mentioned that these kids felt that there was little difference between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.
Let those words echo through your head: “Little difference between Trump and Harris.”
I take away two things from this. Since this is the first generation that has fully lived online, we can now see how detrimental an entirely virtual life is to humans. If you have kids now, do your best to limit their online time. My wife and I battle with the pressures of society and other bad parents, but our son spends less than 10 minutes a day lost in a digital fog, unlike many of his friends — who spend hours, and these are kids younger than 10.
Secondly, if these kids weren’t aware enough to see a difference between Trump and Harris, then I say again: The education system in the United States is a failed system. I don’t blame teachers. I blame Republicans — underfunding public schools, book burning, etc.
Trust me, twentysomethings, when I say no one in Gaza is sitting around thanking you for your support for them by not voting for Kamala Harris. It is extreme American naivete to think that your refusal to vote for an amazingly accomplished and talented woman would somehow help fill their empty stomachs — or silence the bombs from the murderer Netanyahu.
Your silly little pretests to “show support for Palestine” resulted in the election of a monster whose number one goal is to turn the United States of America into the same oppressive, murderous regime that you view Israel to be — and that Hamas is.
Way to go, kids. You hit it out of the park. There were a lot more important things to worry about than Gaza — and I don’t support Israel at all! — but you didn’t think there was a difference between Trump and Harris.
Well, now you will find out that there is a difference, and it’s a huge one.
Resist, regardless of how they try to stop us!
I'm from UK. I'm finding really hard to understand how this works. I sat watching Trump triumphantly calling out "full pardon" as he signed those orders and I thought what about those who died or were severely injured during those riots? Where is the justice for them and their families? How did this happen?
