The chapter of American history that spans from roughly 1960 to 2025 equals 26 percent of our nation’s history. It’s pretty wild to think of our history in such increments. If a person born in 1776 lived to be 90 years old, then they would have died in 1866. A 10-year-old in 1856, who lived to be 90, would die in 1946. A 90-year-old today could have known a person who shared life with someone born when our nation was first conceived.
