Why this obsession with a perfect lawn?? Perfect lawns pose a huge environmental cost.

So true. In 2023, a lawn should be whatever nature lets it be. The endless watering lawns changed the climate of cities in Arizona.

Did you ever learn what his secret was for such a nice lawn? The type of grass seeds he used along with the fertilizer, herbicide, etc.?

I used to have a beautiful lawn that was the envy of the neighborhood. I used to get a kick out of going on Google Maps and seeing pics from space of my lawn compared to the rest of the neighborhood.

It was a fun hobby back then, but we currently own two dogs and I'd rather not subject them to the chemicals needed to create and maintain such a beautiful lawn. The lawn never loved us back like our dogs do!

No, I was at an age when I didn't chat with him about that stuff. I am sure he would have told me, though. He loved that lawn.
