June 14th was (and remains to be) a shitty day in America for a couple reasons. First of all, it was the day that Donald Trump was born. Yes, one of those unavoidable things that would set off a chain reaction, unlike many others in our national history, like the way a single sneeze in China sets off the flu and cold season each year.
In the ways that I sometimes imagine going back in time to kill Adolf Hitler before he became the leader of the right in 1920s Munich, so too I sometimes imagine going back and terrorizing 16-year-old Donnie Trump on his birthday with the hope of breaking him for eternity. It sounds harsh, but I chose 16 because I am sure that by then, many of the most despicable traits that make him what he is today were already well-formed. A child of eternal privilege, whose proclivities for making the lives of others miserable were already on display with his brother and cousins, something like a thorough ass-kicking when he was filling with piss and vinegar might have sent him down another path. But we will never know.
SIDEBAR: I got my ass handed to me when I was thoroughly whooped when I was 18. I was fighting, slipped on the ice, and the other guy ended up on top of me. He pounded my face bloody. It changed my outlook on fights forever after. I believe it saved me from a lot of future trouble.
So, June 14th, 2025, came and passed. The parade happened, and of my three potential outcomes, the first didn’t happen. It’s probably good that the marching troops didn’t open fire on the tyrant wannabe. That is a rough road, and history doesn’t have many good examples of happy military coups. Yesterday, showed us that the fan is indeed, shit is flying but the fan isn’t yet on high. There was extreme political violence in Minnesota with the killing of a Democratic politician and her husband and the shooting of another. As we can see by the lack of off-the-wall, hyperbolic reaction by Dear Leader and the fascists in his administration, a narrative hasn’t yet been created to blame Democrats and “the radical left” for the shootings.
Stephen Miller and his coterie of coke-sniffing incels are undoubtedly seeding social media as we speak with the kind of narrative that only “retarded” cultists can believe. Then voila, like a flash of lightning, 50 million dopey-assed M’gidiots will fall in line and blame anyone from Barack Obama to a Ninja version of the Joe Biden AI-robot for the shootings. As much as I hate Miller and his band of ball-less bros, it is sometimes fun to see how easily they dupe millions of MAGA dumbasses with lies and unbelievable conspiracies.
Let me get to my point, though, as you can see, I have fun sometimes rambling along, letting my fingers skip and hop over the keyboard as if they were off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz. As grotesquely stupid, inadequate, and unpatriotic as M’gidiots and cultists are, they have always existed in some form or another in our country. They always will exist. In 1989, when Trump ran full-page ads in the New York-New Jersey area demanding capital punishment for the “Central Park Five,” (five young men wrongly accused of having raped a white, female jogger in Central Park), everyone I knew then who supported Trump’s calls are today hardcore Trumpists — my brother and cousin being two of them.
Yesterday, that shitty day in our country happened because of liberals, libertarians, supporters of third party candidates, Muslim-Americans who supported Trump over Harris because of Gaza, and voters below 30. Millions of young people decided that voting on November 5th, 2024, would change nothing, so they stayed home. In what was one of the biggest miscalculations in American history, the act of not voting for Kamala Harris has thoroughly and decisively f***** Muslim-Americans, Hispanic Americans, kids under 30, Black Americans, and many others. The massive protests and discontent with the fascism and chaos of Trump were all because the above-listed people were too naive and, dare I say, stupid to understand the consequences of not voting for Kamala Harris.
All of the talk about Trump’s policies being steppingstones toward authoritarianism is off the mark. Our government today is an authoritarian one. The rule of law is hanging on by a quickly weakening thread, and the armed, masked goons being led by a woman whose cold-hearted hatred for our country and Constitution, South Dakota Barbie Kristi Noem, are occupying many of our communities already — and it has only been 6 months since Trump took over.
So, as June 15th dawns a new day upon our torn and suffering nation, accept that the cultists will be “retards” until the day they die. When you see the young people now so upset about the results of Trumpism, and you see the Hispanic and Muslim Americans crying over the violence of Trump’s policies, remind yourself that we are here because those people failed our democracy. They failed us!
Remind them that elections have consequences, and not voting is the worst thing they can do! That is why we are where we are today, people.
The only problem with "they're not perfect, so I won't vote" is that you got Trump who has enabled Netanyahu and every other autocrat far more than Harris would have. Enjoy your non-vote.
As much as I despise Trump, I still wouldn't vote for Kamala Harris or the Democrats today. They didn't have a solution to the fundamental forces keeping the Trump and the Republicans in power and they still don't. They don't need "Not My King" signs, they need "We Will Show You The Money" signs. Sorry!
