The only problem with "they're not perfect, so I won't vote" is that you got Trump who has enabled Netanyahu and every other autocrat far more than Harris would have. Enjoy your non-vote.
As much as I despise Trump, I still wouldn't vote for Kamala Harris or the Democrats today. They didn't have a solution to the fundamental forces keeping the Trump and the Republicans in power and they still don't. They don't need "Not My King" signs, they need "We Will Show You The Money" signs. Sorry!
I think Harris' biggest challenge in the election was staying loyal to Biden while trying to carve out her on position. She was unable to declare how different she would be regarding Netanyahu or Putin. Consequently, she never stood out on her own. Now, while I agree with you that the Dems are not articulating the solutions that I want to see enacted at the Federal level - especially a highly progressive income tax - there are too many programs that affect people throughout the country that the Democrats will get right. They deserve your support.
I don't want their primary goal to enact taxes against the rich. Just my opinion. I want them to put forward policies that attract the interest of people who voted for Trump. That means either answering immigration issues or showing a plan that helps them. So you tax the rich, what then? Where will the money be spent? They need to stop it with the climate change and DEI stuff. Not that it's bad in and of itself, it's just tone deaf to the problems many American have. Well, we could debate this all day ;) I vote for anyone who sounds reasonable and doesn't pander too much.
I haven't had the opportunity to vote for anyone like that for a long time.
If you haven't been able to find a reasonable politician to vote for in a long time, perhaps you are setting unreasonable standards for homo sapiens. It's an imperfect world.
Yes, that's a valid point. My answer, for better or worse is I'm almost 64, have voted with hope for better outcomes but haven't seen any results, so now vote accountability.
Biden and the Democrats did not stop (or have even now) Israel from using our weapons against its internal population. Those weapons are for territorial defense. I am not going to vote for people complicity in needlessly killing women and children. Harris was/is complicit. However, IF she had shown any indication of shame I would have voted for her.
Bernie Sanders is the only one who talks any sense to me. He might as well be on Mars.
If more people didn't vote for the status quo like me maybe thing will change. Like I said, I tried the way you describe. Going out with a different approach.

If MONEY is the main goal, we haave failed as a society
Agree. That's even a more fundamental problem.
