Interesting analysis of the veteran treatment in the US. I remember a lot of memes and slogans basically denying student loan forgiveness untill the needs of the veterans were met. I am afraid the end result will be nothing for both groups.
Why the haste to pin it on a radicalized Muslim??? Maybe, just maybe, it’s because this depraved act was carried out by a radicalized Muslim, like so many similar acts. And linking this to Trump or what’s in store for America under Trump is what’s really disgusting, and shows the depths to which TDS sufferers are ready to sink.
It may have been carried out by a radicalized Muslim. Who had served more than a decade in the Us Army. Who was born and raised there. There are several questions that can be raised then. The most important one is of course how the radicalization process happened. Where did a guy who should know better turn towards the ideals he had defended? Why did nobody pick up any signals? Was there anything in his service that could lead to this? Any support that could’ve avoided this? These and similar questions matter. There are many veterans out there. They don’t have to turn to IS. They could go anti-semitic and nazi and start gunning down Jews. Or Muslims. Or… the point made in the piece here was that destroying veteran support is rather risky, in addition to being very immoral towards people who have risked their life for the US. And that Trump had done that. Feel free to call that TDS if you want. But that don’t impress me much.
