I don't see the problem. One of the great benefits of tech transformation in every generation has been the massive increase in economic efficiency. And the net impact has always been increased employment opportunities, even though there is naturally occurring displacement.

I'm thrilled to be writing this on my notebook PC rather than an IBM Selectric or Underwood typewriter.

That is an entirely different example of technology. One enhances your ability to type, and the other makes thousands of jobs redundant for humans.

That's just silly. Robots and automation have cost US manufacturing more jobs than Reaganomics and off-shoring. Result? Massively better quality.

I have a client who is using AI to replace human eyes for quality control. The result? Massively better quality.

We remain a long way from technology completely replacing human labor. But as we move in that direction, we need to be working much more diligently on developing basic income policies for the day when all the work is being done better and more efficiently by technology.

Or, we can just wait for global warming to bring an end to the Anthropocene epoch.
